HFS-F-24
Weaning marine finfish larvae from live food to dry microdiet can be a major challenge. In most research and commercial hatcheries, the feeding of microdiet is usually done manually. Feeding throughout the day manually is labor intensive and administering large amounts of food infrequently can cause fouling issues as a high proportion of microdiet remains uneaten and settles on the bottom of the tank. This leads to bacterial proliferation and reduced dissolved oxygen levels, which increases larval stress and the risk of infection.
The HFS feeders are specifically designed to administer micro-diets from 100 to 2000 microns in size. Both the amount of feed and feeding frequency can be easily controlled with our touch screen control system. The HFS system administers small amounts of microdiet which maximizes its the availability to larvae by increasing the frequency of encounters. This more closely resembles live feed availability and leads to a healthier environment and more efficient weaning by allowing the larvae to consume a greater proportion of microdiet.
Clear Hopper for easy feed level monitoring
Splash proof lid
Air manifold to disperse microdiet evenly
Low voltage 24V DC
Feeding intervals as close as a 1 minute apart
Interchangeable plates for specific feed characteristics
Optional 1KG Hopper for higher capacity
AQUA-PP
The Aqua peristaltic pump used in conjunction with our HFS feeders make this a truly complete feeding system. These peristaltic pumps have a low profile and adjustable speed. The pumps can be controlled by our HFS touch screen control system to periodically add algae, rotifers, and/or artemia at various pumping rates.
