Our Titan heat pumps manufactured by Aqua Logic Inc, offer great versatility in temperature manipulation. They are perfect for broodstock systems where temperature manipulation to induce spawning is critical to year round production. Our heat pumps are capable of delivering summer time temperatures in the winter, and winter time temperatures in the summer.
In the cooling mode, the heat pump works as a chiller, cooling water to the temperature you select. In the heating mode, the heat pump works with the liquid refrigerant (Freon) flow in reverse. Freon absorbs heat from the air as it moves through the condenser. As it heats, the Freon becomes a gas, which is then compressed by the compressor. The heat carried by the Freon is then delivered to the titanium heat exchanger and transferred into the circulated water.
All units are suitable for outdoor installation and feature a dual stage digital temperature controller enclosed in a NEMA4X enclosure with easy 3 push button programming and will maintain water temperatures in the range from 40°F-85°F . The controller can display in either Fahrenheit or Celsius and will maintain the water within 1 degree of the set point. Flow switches are provided as a standard to shut down the heat pump should water flow to the heat exchanger stop preventing freeze up and possible cracking of the outer shell.
